Job summary
Telvero is seeking an ISP/Data Center Low Voltage Installation Technician on behalf of our client for a 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity. The role involves installation, termination, testing, labeling, and organization of structured cabling within data center and ISP environments, including rack mounting and grounding, testing with Fluke devices, and adherence to safety standards.
Strong candidates have 1–3 years in low-voltage installation and familiarity with ANSI/TIA/EIA-568 color codes.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of commercial low-voltage installation or related field experience.
- Data center, ISP central office, or commercial construction experience preferred.
- Knowledge of ANSI/TIA/EIA-568 color codes and structured cabling practices.
- Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs and work on ladders/scaffolding.
- OSHA 10 Construction Certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Install and secure cable pathways and containment systems.
- Mount and align server racks and network enclosures.
- Terminate copper and fiber connections (LC/SC/MPO) and patch panels.
- Route Cat6A copper and fiber cabling.
- Label cables and ports per project standards.
- Test installations with Fluke DSX-8000/OTDR and power meters.
- Follow safety requirements and maintain installation records.
