Job summary

Archetype Infrastructure Solutions is seeking a Division 28 Data Center Technician to install, terminate, and test copper and fiber cabling in mission-critical data centers. The role involves reading blueprints, supporting structured cabling, access control, CCTV, and network infrastructure, while following safety standards.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years in low-voltage installations, data center experience preferred, and strong troubleshooting skills.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in low-voltage or Division 28 installations.
• Experience in data centers preferred.
• Knowledge of copper and fiber cabling standards (TIA/EIA, BICSI).
• Ability to read construction drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Able to pass background checks and obtain data center security clearance if required.

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, label, and test copper and fiber optic cabling in data center environments.
• Install and support Division 28 systems including: Structured cabling, Access control, CCTV/security, Intrusion detection, Network infrastructure.
• Install cable trays, ladder racks, conduit, and pathways.
• Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, rack elevations, and construction drawings.
• Perform cable testing and certification using industry-standard test equipment.
• Install, dress, and manage cabling in racks and cabinets according to industry best practices.
• Troubleshoot connectivity, cabling, and low-voltage system issues.
• Maintain accurate documentation, labeling, and as-built drawings.
• Follow all OSHA and site-specific safety requirements.
• Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, and other trades to complete projects efficiently.
