Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an Inventory & Logistics Associate to manage receiving, stocking, and shipping of data center hardware. You will ensure accurate records, support with pack-out, and help install server racks following engineering guidance.

The role requires attention to safety and a team-oriented mindset. Responsibilities include coordinating inbound/outbound shipments, conducting regular stock counts, and maintaining documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of experience in logistics, inventory management, or related field.
• Familiarity with inventory systems and basic office software.
• Ability to read safety rules and procedural documents.
• Physical ability to lift and move items and operate pallet jacks/forklifts.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and record all incoming inventory.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and ship/receive documentation.
• Perform regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies.
• Coordinate with suppliers and carriers for inbound/outbound shipments.
• Prepare shipping labels and packaging for outgoing shipments.
• Upload, unpack, and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy.
• Transport inventory using material handling equipment.
• Assist with setup of server racks and installation guidance.
• Adhere to safety protocols and data center security.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to fulfill inventory and logistics needs.

Job description

• Receive, inspect, and accurately record all incoming inventory, including racks & trays, networking equipment, and other hardware
• Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure proper documentation for all items received and shipped
• Perform regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies
• Coordinate with suppliers and carriers to schedule inbound and outbound shipments
• Prepare shipping documents, labels, and packaging for outgoing shipments
• Upload, unpack, and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and completeness
• Transport inventory by hand using material handling equipment (i.e. pallet jacks)
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including storage areas and shipping/receiving docks
• Assist with the disposal of packaging materials and obsolete equipment as needed
• Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a secure working environment
• Comply with Data Center security measures and access controls
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data center operations, procurement, and technical support, to fulfill inventory and logistics needs
• Support and collaborate with management on special projects or initiatives
• Assist in the setup and installation of computer server racks according to provided instructions
• Help in the assembly of server racks by following diagrams and guidelines from senior team members
• Handle basic tools and equipment safely and effectively to complete installation tasks

Requirements

• At a minimum, you’ll need:
• To be at least 18 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1 year of experience in logistics, inventory management, or related fields
• Familiarity with inventory management systems and software, as well as proficiency in using basic office software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Word)
• The ability to do basic math calculations, with and without a calculator
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedural documents
• Familiarity with proper lifting techniques and the use of material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks
• It’d be great if you also have:
• Additional education or certification in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively and safely in a team setting
• Ensure a positive, respectful, and professional attitude in everything you do
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including possible overtime when needed
