Job summary

Referment is recruiting a data center infrastructure engineer in New Jersey to lead high-density liquid cooling initiatives and oversee hardware lifecycle critical to uptime. The role requires hands-on expertise with liquid cooling architectures and the ability to translate designs into field deployments at busy colocation and enterprise sites.

Based onsite at multiple New Jersey facilities with occasional travel, you will manage power, cooling and space capacity, validate deployments, and work

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data center operations in high-uptime environments.
• Hands-on liquid cooling experience including fluid management.
• Experience managing capacity from power to thermal thresholds as hardware evolves.
• Ability to read mechanical/electrical drawings and trace power delivery.
• Familiarity with Linux or automation tooling and server diagnostics.
• Data-driven approach and clear communication with global teams.

Responsibilities

• Support design and deployment of high-density infrastructure from specs to field execution.
• Manage site capacity across power, cooling and space to stay within operating limits.
• Oversee vendors installing infrastructure ensuring power delivery and thermal requirements.
• Develop runbooks and validate deployments for power, thermal, and production readiness.
• Pilot and document next-generation cooling, including liquid-to-chip systems and secondary cooling loops.
• Maintain monitoring and inventory records; provide senior technical support on complex hardware issues.
