Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking an ICT Design Engineer to join a global engineering team focused on designing and delivering the physical infrastructure for AWS data centers.

You will develop pathway, space, and cabling designs, plus construction specifications, working with suppliers and internal engineers to define requirements and explore new technologies. You will contribute to accelerating time-to-market, ensuring safety and security standards, and driving cost efficiencies across

Qualifications

• Reading and editing construction documents (design drawings, control diagrams, specs).
• Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities (data centers, power gen, etc.).
• Proficiency with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint).
• Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods for data center equipment and facilities.
• Experience developing design documentation (plans, specifications) for construction or permitting.
• Experience with fiber optic components, cabling, and interconnect products, technologies, and standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely delivery of scalable ICT pathway, cabling and equipment plant designs and specifications.
• Review and approve ICT pathway, cabling and equipment submittals.
• Identify and respond to risks and high-priority issues rapidly and effectively.
• Support new technology and design activities that improve infrastructure quality, reduce cost and installation time.
• Travel 10+% to review projects and coordinate with onsite personnel and contractors at AWS' Data Centers.
• Have fun and offer creative, out of the box solutions.
