Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design HVAC and plumbing systems for data center facilities, with a focus on HyperScale and Colocation environments. You will work on administrative and support spaces and perform CFD airflow modeling for performance optimization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
• 5+ years related work experience
• Data Center/Mission Critical design experience preferred
• Active engineering registration or licensure to support engineer of record (EOR) requirements preferred
• Familiarity with data center CFD modeling and energy code requirements

Responsibilities

• Lead HVAC and plumbing system design for various facilities
• Focus on HyperScale and Colocation data center designs for admin and support spaces
• Support areas such as Administrative, Warehouse, Maintenance, Workshop, Laboratory
• Conduct Data Center airflow CFD modeling for interior and exterior spaces
• Perform energy audits, efficiency studies, adaptive reuse of sustainable design and LEED application
• Develop engineering skills and contribute to project delivery
• Collaborate with the Mechanical Buildings Design Group across sectors
