Job summary

Johnson Controls Inc. is seeking skilled HVAC mechanics to support commercial and industrial chillers in North America. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and customer‑facing problem solving in mission‑critical environments.

Qualifications

• 8+ years Commercial/industrial HVAC troubleshooting experience
• EPA refrigerants license and applicable state/local licensing
• Union membership (United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry)
• Ability to travel 10–20% to support field activities
• Ability to install complete systems (Chillers, Rooftop Units, plumbing and supporting mechanical systems)
• Experience with centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, screw chillers, ammonia/hydrocarbon systems
• Safety training certification (ammonia/hydrocarbon)

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, repair and replacement services on commercial HVACR systems
• Provide quotes and solutions to optimize facility performance and energy efficiency
• Assist in commissioning and aftermarket service as a trusted advisor to customers
• Collaborate with local market mechanics, servicers and apprentices, providing on-the-job training when needed
