Job summary

Google is seeking an Operations Technician to install, configure, test, troubleshoot, and maintain hardware and server software in a data center environment. You will handle components, networks, routers, switches, and higher-level infrastructure tasks as part of a team, often on physically demanding days.

Role requires onsite work, ability to lift heavy equipment, and willingness to work non-standard hours.

Qualifications

• Experience performing component-level repairs and troubleshooting on technical equipment.
• Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting operating systems, computer/server hardware, or networking protocols.
• Ability to lift 50 lb (23 kg) and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
• Ability to work non-standard hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and operate new data center infrastructure within Global Server Operations (GSO).
• Report issues and follow data center procedures to troubleshoot and diagnose issues with equipment or infrastructure.
• Maintain the security and integrity of data and ensure proper data handling per Google security standards.
• Disassemble equipment at end-of-life for replacement or maintenance.
• Repair and perform preventative maintenance on equipment, servers, or infrastructure.
