Job summary

HVAC RNTL is seeking a Business Development Manager – Data Centers to grow our Mission Critical business by owning strategic Data Center accounts. You will identify opportunities early, understand project and commissioning needs, and coordinate with HVAC RNTL resources to deliver a coordinated solution.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of business development, sales, or account management experience in the Data Center sector.
• Willingness to travel up to 75%.
• Experience engaging hyperscalers, General Contractors, and Mechanical Contractors across multiple stakeholders.
• Track record of building strategic customer relationships and turning needs into awarded business.
• Strong communication, negotiation, forecasting, and CRM skills.

Responsibilities

• Build and execute strategic account plans for assigned Data Center customers, focusing on hyperscalers, GC's and Mechanical Contractors.
• Develop relationships with owners/operators, construction managers, commissioning providers, engineering partners, and other decision-makers.
• Identify, qualify, and advance opportunities across new builds, expansions, retrofits, and commissioning windows; map stakeholders and processes.
• Lead customer discovery and connect project requirements to HVAC RNTL solutions including load banks, temporary cooling, air handlers, pumps, filtration and related support.
• Coordinate with Technical Sales Support, estimating, service, operations, and local teams to develop clear scope, pricing, proposals, submittals, schedules and execution plans.
• Engage early to align responsibilities, site coordination, access, safety, commissioning sequence, documentation and escalation paths.
• Maintain a qualified pipeline, accurate forecasts, current CRM records, and consistent opportunity reviews; communicate risks and next steps promptly.
• Represent HVAC RNTL at customer meetings and industry events; ensure a strong handoff after award and identify repeat/multi-site opportunities.
