Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced Fleet Remediation Project Design Mechanical Engineer to lead design projects in operational data centers.

You will own upgrades, review designs, and interface with multiple engineering teams to ensure reliability and sustainability as AWS scales globally. The role requires strong engineering judgement, field readiness, and experience managing engineering projects and consultants.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required.
• Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Experience with design, construction, operation, or maintenance of mission critical facilities, especially data centers.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Own the design for existing data center upgrades and design-solutions.
• Perform design and equipment submittal review for Data Centers in your region.
• Interface with internal and external data center design engineering team, server hardware team, EHS team, field engineering, and controls engineering to promote standards.
• Work on concurrent projects, sometimes in multiple geographical regions.
• Act as a technical subject matter expert for your given discipline during new remediation projects.
• Support construction, commissioning, operations, and turnover.
