Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Herndon, VA is hiring a Fleet Remediation Senior Project Design Electrical Engineer to lead design projects in operational data centers, remediate issues, upgrade infrastructure, and add new services.

You will serve as the go-to engineering resource for projects and provide lifecycle support from design through implementation. The role requires strong engineering judgment, data-driven approach, and experience managing engineering projects and consultants across

Qualifications

• 6+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities.
• Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods for data center equipment and facilities.
• Experience in engineering in mission critical facilities including data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region.

Responsibilities

• Own the design for existing data center upgrades and design-solutions which add data center infrastructure, capacity, improve availability, and/or increase sustainability.
• Perform design and equipment submittal review for Data Centers in your region.
• Interface with internal and external data center design engineering team, server hardware team, environmental health and safety team, field engineering, and controls engineering to promote standards that maintain consistency and reliability in services delivered.
• Work on concurrent projects, sometimes in multiple geographical regions.
• Act as a technical subject matter expert for your given discipline during new remediation projects.
• Support construction, commissioning, operations, and turnover.
