Job summary

Amazon Fleet Remediation Senior Project Design Electrical Engineer in the IAD region leads design projects in operational data centers to remediate issues, upgrade infrastructure, and add services from design through implementation. You will be the go-to electrical engineering resource across projects and regions.

You will own design for upgrades, review submittals, and coordinate with internal and external teams, while supporting turnover and commissioning.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in industrial or commercial engineering for mission critical facilities such as data centers or power facilities.
• Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Experience researching new data center designs and construction methods.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Knowledge of building codes and regulations for the region.

We have an immediate opening for a Fleet Remediation Senior Project Design Electrical Engineer in the IAD region.

As an Amazon Fleet Remediation Senior Project Design Engineer, you will lead design projects in operational data centers, that remediate issues, upgrade our existing infrastructure or add new services. You will be the 'go-to' engineering resource for these projects and will provide lifecycle support from design through implementation. You will use your electrical expertise to:

• Own the design for existing data center upgrades and design-solutions which add data center infrastructure, capacity, improve availability, and/or increase sustainability.
• Perform design and equipment submittal review for Data Centers in your region.
• Interface with internal and external data center design engineering team, server hardware team, environmental health and safety team, field engineering, and controls engineering to promote standards that maintain consistency and reliability in services delivered.
• Work on concurrent projects, sometimes in multiple geographical regions.
• Act as a technical subject matter expert for your given discipline during new remediation projects.
• Support construction, commissioning, operations, and turnover.

• Have experience managing engineering projects and engineering consultants.
• Build trust and relationships with different stakeholders (e.g., Operations, Commissioning, Construction and Design)
• Manage design and as built drawings and documents
• Prepare and present progress reports to all relevant stakeholders
• Be inclined to get into the field to see things up close

Each day you will interact with different teams responsible for all aspects of the data centers. You will prioritize your activities to support data center safety, remediation projects, capacity, and availability, focusing on the actions that are most impactful. Basic Qualifications

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
