Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to support our expanding Data Center practice in the U.S. You will collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and AHJs to deliver compliant, reliable fire protection designs for mission-critical facilities.

You will lead design reviews, perform hydraulic calculations, and help shape fire protection strategies for hyperscale data centers, while mentoring junior engineers and supporting business development efforts.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
5+ years of fire protection engineering experience.
Strong knowledge of NFPA, IBC, IFC, FM Global data sheets and OSHA requirements.

Responsibilities

Serve as the Fire Protection Engineer for Data Center and Mission Critical projects.
Provide fire protection system design, code analysis, and life safety engineering.
Develop design criteria, basis of design reports, and technical standards.
Lead multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior staff.
Coordinate with clients, engineers, authorities having jurisdiction, and AHJs.
Perform hydraulic calculations for water distribution and sprinkler systems.
Support business development and proposal activities within the Data Center market.
