Network Connex Company is seeking a Field Technician (L2) to perform installation and cabling in live data centers, following strict safety and QA guidelines. You will work independently, troubleshoot complex issues, document tasks, and mentor L1 technicians while supporting regional sites as needed.

The role requires 3+ years in data centers or structured cabling, fiber testing certification (OTDR/OLTS), and valid driving privileges.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required; technical training or an associate’s degree is preferred.
• 3+ years of documented industry experience in data center, structured cabling, or field service environments.
• Documented fiber optic testing certification on OTDR and OLTS.
• Experience performing work in operational environments and on projects within live mission-critical data centers.
• Possession of all relevant certifications required for the role.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.

Responsabilités

• Execute installation services per contractual agreements, ensuring compliance with safety and QA/QC standards.
• Perform all installation and cabling tasks, including routing, terminating, labeling, and testing copper and fiber.
• Define scope and procedures with minimal guidance from lead technicians.
• Conduct rack and stack, patch panels, cable dressing, and structured cabling.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex fiber/copper issues without escalation.
• Diagnose connectivity issues and hardware failures; support break/fix activities.
• Read cable maps, schematics, and floor layouts to support installation and troubleshooting.
• Maintain documentation, asset tracking, and service reports.
• Support QA and QC requirements for projects and installations.
• Work effectively in live data center environments and coordinate with teams to meet milestones.
• Follow all data center safety, security, and change management procedures.
• Train and mentor L1 Trainees, aiding their development and standards compliance.
• Respond to onsite requests and travel to regional data centers as needed.
