Job summary

Network Connex Company is seeking a Field Technician (L2) to execute installation services in live data centers. You will perform cabling, routing, labeling, and testing with minimal supervision, ensuring safety and quality standards are met. Travel to regional sites and mentorship of L1 trainees are involved.

The role requires strong fiber/copper knowledge, OTDR/OLTS testing, and industry certifications. A technical background with data center experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; technical training or associate’s degree preferred.
• OTDR/OLTS certification and fiber splicing certification are preferred.
• Experience in data center or field service environments is expected.

Responsibilities

• Install and cabling services per agreements, meeting safety and QA standards.
• Perform rack/stack, patch panels, and structured cabling tasks.
• Troubleshoot and resolve fiber and copper failures; diagnose issues independently.
• Read cable maps, schematics, and floor layouts to support work.
• Document service reports, asset tracking, and project QA records.
• Mentor L1 Trainees and coordinate with engineers and vendors.
