Job summary

Network Connex Company seeks a Field Technician (L2) to perform installation and cabling in live data center environments. You will work independently with minimal supervision, support QA/QC, and mentor L1 technicians while ensuring safety and project standards.

The role requires travel to regional data centers, overtime, and a strong knowledge of copper and fiber optic cabling, testing, and documentation, with a focus on reliability and quality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred.
• 3+ years in data center or field service environments.
• Fiber testing certifications (OTDR/OLTS) preferred.
• Experience working in live mission-critical data centers.

Responsibilities

• Execute installation and cabling services per contractual standards.
• Perform rack and stack, patch panel installations, and structured cabling.
• Troubleshoot and resolve fiber/copper issues; read cable maps and schematics.
• Maintain documentation and service reports; support QA/QC.
• Mentor L1 Technicians and coordinate with engineers/vendors.
• Travel to regional data center sites as needed and work in live environments.
