Job summary

Nortek Data Center Cooling seeks a Service Technician – Data Center Service to support warranty issues for our Datacenter product line. You will provide service, guidance and technical expertise to end users and outside sales reps.

Role requires commissioning, repair, and service of mechanical and electrical equipment on cooling projects, plus travel to diverse job sites and coordination with multiple stakeholders. Effective customer service and problem solving are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5 years’ experience in installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting; HVAC servicing or similar electromechanical experience preferred.
• Ability to travel ~85% of the time to job sites for commissioning and warranty work.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and manuals.
• Stay on project through root cause analysis.
• Excellent customer service with a focus on exceeding expectations.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate with outside technicians.
• Trade/technical school or certification is a plus.
• Product experience with industrial HVAC or electromechanical products preferred.
• Strong Excel and Word skills.
• Experience with commercial projects; building automation a plus.

Responsibilities

• Commission, repair, and service data center cooling equipment.
• Review work orders and schematics to determine tasks, tools, and parts needed.
• Manage challenging jobs to minimize customer disruption and cost.
• Collaborate with building owners, contractors, engineers, and local servicers.
• Consult with engineering and manufacturing to resolve problems.
• Provide superior customer service and maintain professional demeanor.
• Advise management on customer satisfaction and product improvements.
