Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Area Superintendent for a mission critical/data center construction project in Montgomery, AL. This role leads field crews, plans in detail with CPM methods, and ensures safety, schedule, and quality on site.

Ideal candidates have a CM/engineering/architectural background with 5–6+ years of large project experience and strong leadership, coordination, and problem-solving skills on complex builds.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil/Structural Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
• 5–6+ years on large commercial projects; data center/mission critical experience a plus.
• Proven field leadership overseeing crews and subcontractors.
• Ability to plan, communicate plans, and drive field execution.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day field execution for an assigned area on a large commercial project.
• Plan and communicate detailed plans to crews and trade partners to meet safety, schedule, and quality goals.
• Own safety performance and model safe behaviors on site.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors to align with project priorities.
• Manage and track the construction schedule using CPM; use Primavera P6 for sequences and critical path analyses.
• Oversee quality control, review shop drawings and field verifications.
• Collaborate with engineers on layout, coordination, and problem-solving in the field.
• Use digital workflows and tools to manage information and communicate effectively.
• Develop and implement task-level safety plans (AHA, STA, JHA).
• Relocation to Montgomery, AL, if required; mentor newer team members.
• Support and uphold structured site processes and high standards.
