Job summary

CBRE in the United States is seeking an IT Service Technician to ensure smooth operation of data center environments. You will execute on-site build projects, support deployments, and handle live production requests, installing hardware, configuring cabinets, and decommissioning equipment as needed.

The role requires 3+ years in a 24/7 data center, strong analytical and communication skills, and ability to work with customers. Unix/Linux is a plus; CompTIA Server+/Network+ are valued.

Qualifications

• 3+ years deploying and supporting servers in a 24/7 production data center environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work with customers to resolve issues and provide solutions.
• Experience installing cabling and rack infrastructure.
• Unix/Linux skills preferred.
• Understanding of IEEE/ANSI/TIA/EIA cabling standards.
• Hands-on experience with server and switch hardware.
• CompTIA Server+ and Network+ certifications are valued.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site build projects and hardware deployments.
• Support live production requests and cabinet installations.
• Manage shipments and maintain data center cleanliness.
• Document issues and suggest SOP improvements.
• Maintain inventory and perform quarterly cycle counts.
• Ensure safe and compliant rack installations.
• Collaborate with customers and team to resolve issues.
