Job summary

Supermicro is recruiting for a data center installation technician to support the Global Service Installation Team. The role includes racking, stacking, cabling, and hardware deployment across servers and networking equipment in customer data centers.

Applicants should have 1+ years with X86 systems and customer support, a related degree, strong diagnostics, and travel availability up to 50%.

Qualifications

1+ years of experience servicing complex X86 systems and components.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
Or an Associate's degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering, plus equivalent years of relevant experience.
1+ years of experience in Customer Support.
Strong hardware diagnostics and understanding BIOS, drivers, and software loads.

Responsibilities

Perform rack elevations, cable mapping, and installation for customer solution projects.
Deploy server, storage, and networking equipment in data center environments.
Carry out physical installation, rack and stack, cabling, and network wiring.
Coordinate with engineering to ensure proper hardware deployment per specs.
Provide frontline technical support to end users via phone, email, and ticketing system.
Travel up to 50% to customer sites for installations or troubleshooting.
