Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield seeks an Operating Engineer to manage electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and facility systems for data center operations. This role collaborates with engineering staff, vendors, and site leadership to ensure safe, reliable power and cooling in a 24x7 environment.

There's emphasis on completing operational qualification within six months, with rotating shifts and overtime. Strong adherence to standards, inspections, and reporting will be essential for success.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; apprentice program or trade school preferred.
• 5+ years in operating mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in a commercial property setting.
• Licenses/permits for trade may be required (Journeyman/Master Electrician, etc.).
• Experience with energy management systems and building maintenance practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform plumbing, electrical, and HVAC tasks for the building(s).
• Maintain heating equipment, chillers, pumps, fans, VAV, and air distribution systems.
• Monitor and adjust mechanical/pneumatic equipment and safety systems.
• Carry out preventive maintenance per standards and manufacturer guidelines.
• Respond to emergencies and document activities for supervision.
• Comply with codes, safety rules, and company directives.
