Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Data Center Engineering Technician in Sparks, NV to join the front line of mission-critical facilities. You will monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life-safety systems and support reliable 24/7 operations for high-availability data centers.

You will work with a diverse team across AWS, travel between sites as needed, and perform troubleshooting, PM tasks, and on-site support for contractors to keep our infrastructure running at peak uptime.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of electrical or mechanical experience or data center/mission critical facilities experience.
• 1+ years of Microsoft Office experience.
• Work flexible shifts including night shifts/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and EPMS.
• Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within SLA.
• Perform rack installs and decommissioning within SLA.
• PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Technical writing to support change management.
• Monitor daily work requests and manage to resolution, project execution from conception to completion.
• On-site support of contractors, sub-contractors and vendors ensuring compliance with practices and laws.
• Shifts up to 12 hours; some locations have on-call rotations; role may support multiple sites.
