Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Engineering Technician to help maintain mission-critical facilities across AWS data centers. You will operate electrical and mechanical systems, troubleshoot issues, and support safety and uptime targets in a fast-paced environment.

You may travel between sites and work shifts up to 12 hours with on-call rotations. This role emphasizes hands-on maintenance of diesel generators, switchgear, UPS, PDUs, cooling systems, and life-safety equipment

Qualifications

• 2+ years of electrical and mechanical facilities maintenance experience.
• Ability to travel between data center locations as needed.
• Flexibility to work shifts up to 12 hours and on-call rotations.
• Experience reading and writing procedures and engineering documents.
• Vocational/technical training or 4+ years of military experience or related equivalent

Responsibilities

• Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment for 24/7 reliability.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
• Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within SLA.
• Perform rack installs and decommissioning within SLA.
• Perform PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Create technical write-ups to support change management program.
• Manage daily work requests from concept through completion.
• Provide on-site support to contractors and vendors per established practices and local law.
• Support rotating shifts and multiple locations as needed.
