Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Data Center Engineering Technician to help maintain mission-critical facilities and power infrastructure across AWS data centers in Virginia. The role focuses on electrical and mechanical equipment, standby generators, UPS/PDUs, cooling systems, and fire/life safety, with a strong emphasis on uptime and safety.

The position requires flexibility, travel between sites, and the ability to work 12-hour shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• 1+ year electrical or mechanical or data center facilities experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Willingness to travel between data center locations; flexible schedule including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment for 24/7 reliability.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
• Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within SLA.
• Perform rack installs and decommissioning within SLA.
• PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
