Job summary

Amazon is hiring a Data Center Engineering Technician to maintain, operate, and troubleshoot mission-critical data center facilities. You’ll work on standby diesel generators, switchgear, UPS, PDUs, and cooling systems, ensuring high availability and safety.

You’ll join a diverse team of engineers and specialists, with relocation support and a generous benefits package. Expect variable shifts, travel between sites, and on-site collaboration with contractors.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of electrical facilities maintenance and/or 2+ years of mechanical facilities maintenance experience.
• 2+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience.
• Ability to travel between data center locations as needed.
• Willingness to work 24/7/365 and flexible shifts including nights, weekends, or holidays.

Responsibilities

• Daily building rounds to monitor and record information from electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment for 24/7 reliability.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
• Assist in troubleshooting of facility and rack-level events within internal SLAs.
• Perform rack installs and decommissioning within internal SLAs.
• PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Technical writing to support change management programs.
• Monitor daily work requests and drive them to resolution; lead projects end-to-end.
• Provide on-site support to contractors and vendors; ensure work complies with practices and local law.
• Work shifts may be up to 12 hours and rotate; some locations have on-call rotations.
• Role may support multiple locations/sites.
