Job summary

AWS is seeking a Data Center Engineering Technician to join our on-site team in Sparks, NV. You will be the front line for hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment, monitoring systems, performing maintenance, and supporting critical facility operations to keep services highly available.

Ideal candidates have 1+ years in electrical/mechanical work or data center facilities, familiarity with MS Office, and a willingness to work flexible shifts.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of electrical or mechanical experience, or 1+ years in data center or mission critical facilities.
• 1+ years of Microsoft Office products experience.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays.
• 2+ years of data center engineering experience.
• Experience reading and writing procedures and engineering drawings.
• Associate's degree or technical degree in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Daily rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment for 24/7 reliability.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
• Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack‑level events within SLA.
• Perform rack installs and decommissioning within SLA.
• PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Technical writing to support change management.
• Manage daily work requests from conception to completion; execute projects.
• On‑site support of contractors and vendors per practices and local laws.
