Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Engineering Technician to maintain mission-critical data center infrastructure, including 3‑phase power, UPS, PDUs, diesel generators, and cooling systems.

You will work on-site across multiple facilities, performing rounds, monitoring BMS/EPMS, and supporting change management to sustain 24/7 uptime. The role requires hands-on electrical/mechanical skills, the ability to travel between sites, and flexibility for extended shifts.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of electrical or mechanical, or 1+ years of data center or mission critical facilities experience.
• High school or equivalent diploma.
• 2+ years of data center engineering experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment to ensure 24/7 reliability.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
• Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within internal SLA.
• Perform rack installs and decommissioning within internal SLA.
• Perform PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Technical writing to support change management program.
• Monitor daily work requests and manage to resolution, and execute projects from conception to completion.
• On-site support of contractors, sub-contractors and vendors, ensuring adherence to practices and local legislation.
