Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Sterling, VA is seeking a Data Center Engineering Technician to maintain and troubleshoot mission-critical facilities, including diesel generators, switchgear, UPS, PDUs, cooling systems, and fire/life safety equipment.

You will perform daily rounds, monitor BMS/EPMS, support change management, and coordinate with contractors. Some sites require travel and shifts up to 12 hours; relocation stipend available for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of electrical or mechanical facilities maintenance experience.
• Experience reading procedures, technical documents, and engineering drawings.
• Willingness to travel between data center locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and EPMS.
• Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within SLA.
• Perform rack installs and decommissioning within SLA.
• PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Technical writing to support change management.
• Monitor daily work requests and manage to resolution, and execute projects from conception to completion.
• On-site support of contractors, sub-contractors and vendors, ensuring that all work performed is in accordance with established practices, procedures & local legislation.
• Work schedule changes up to 12 hours; some locations have on-call rotations.
