Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Engineering Technician to maintain mission-critical facilities, ensuring high uptime and reliable operations for AWS infrastructure.

You will perform preventative maintenance on diesel generators, switchgear, UPS, PDUs, CRAC, cooling towers, and cooling systems, and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical equipment to keep 99.999% uptime. You will join a diverse team, travel between data centers as needed, and work flexible hours including

Qualifications

• 2+ years of electrical and mechanical experience.
• 2+ years of Microsoft Office products experience.
• Ability to travel between data center locations as needed.
• Flexible schedule including days, nights, and/or weekends.

Responsibilities

• Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
• Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within internal SLA.
• Perform rack installs and rack decommissioning within internal SLA.
• Perform PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Technical writing to support change management program.
• Monitor daily work requests and manage to resolution, and execute projects from conception to completion.
• On-site support of contractors, sub-contractors and vendors.
• Work schedule changes; shifts up to 12 hours; may rotate. Some locations have on-call rotations.
• Role may support more than one location/site.
