Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Engineering Technician to help maintain mission‑critical facilities, including standby generators, switchgear, UPS, PDUs, batteries, CRACs, chillers, cooling towers, and water systems.

You’ll join a diverse team ensuring high uptime and safety, with on‑site work across multiple data centers in the U.S. The role requires 1+ years in electrical/mechanical work, comfort with a flexible schedule, and ability to travel between sites as needed.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of electrical or mechanical experience.
• 1+ years’ experience with Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to work on a flexible schedule including days, nights, and/or weekends.

Responsibilities

• Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment for 24/7 reliability.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
• Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack‑level events within SLAs.
• Perform rack installs and decommissioning within internal SLA.
• PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Provide technical writing to support change management.
• Manage daily work requests, execute projects from conception to completion.
• On‑site support of contractors and vendors ensuring compliance with practices and local laws.
• Shift schedules up to 12 hours; on‑call rotations; may support multiple sites.
• Role may be assigned to more than one location/site.
