Data Center Engineering Technical Manager, Remote

About The Role

As a CBRE Technical Manager, you'll lead a team in developing and maintaining standardized, best-practice operational processes for critical environment facilities, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and safety regulations. This involves collaborating with facility operations and maintenance, delivering technical training, monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), and utilizing as-built drawings. You will maintain strong client and engineer communication, continuously improve preventive maintenance and safety programs, and provide technical support for incidents, projects, and emergencies. Further responsibilities include supporting asset management plans, ensuring statutory compliance, and contributing to strategic process improvements across the US portfolio.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Oversight on SHIELD/CERM Implementation and Reporting on various areas including client contract review, critical infrastructure documentation, site operational RACI, staffing analysis, business continuity plans, training, mock drills, maintenance planning, operational procedures, incident support, infrastructure capacity, root cause analysis, risk management, and airflow management.

Leadership & Communication

  • Highly adaptable leader with 10+ years managing facility engineering teams.
  • Proven ability to lead, plan, and execute strategic initiatives in dynamic environments.
  • Exceptional communication skills tailored to diverse audiences.

Technical Skills & Software Proficiency

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Teams, Power BI, CMMS, BMS, DCIM, EPMS, Bluebeam, and CAD.
  • Experience with work order analysis and report writing.

Technical Expertise & Knowledge

  • Extensive knowledge of data center critical infrastructure, including generators, UPS, PDU, ATS, cooling systems, CRAHs, CRACs, and water systems.
  • Understanding of electrical diagrams, water systems, and safety standards.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with 3-5 years relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid driver's license required. Facility Management certification preferred.
  • Experience in staffing, training, coaching, and performance management.
  • Strong organizational, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
