About The Role

As the Technical Manager at CBRE Data Center Solutions, you will serve as a Subject Matter Expert and oversee Critical Environment Risk Management (CERM) Governance. Your primary responsibilities include providing technical expertise in electrical, mechanical, and fire protection systems, supporting site operations, and managing risk management processes to ensure the safety and stability of critical environments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Implement and report on SHIELD/CERM initiatives
  • Review client contracts and manage critical infrastructure documentation
  • Develop site operational plans and staffing strategies
  • Coordinate business continuity and disaster recovery plans
  • Conduct qualification and human error training
  • Perform mock scenario drills and maintenance planning
  • Develop operational procedures and support incident response
  • Manage critical infrastructure capacity and perform root cause analyses
  • Maintain risk registers and oversee airflow management in data centers
Leadership & Communication
  • Must be an adaptable leader with 10+ years of experience managing engineering teams
  • Ability to lead strategic initiatives and communicate effectively with diverse audiences
Technical Skills & Software Proficiency
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Teams, Power BI, CMMS, BMS, DCIM, EPMS, Bluebeam, CAD
  • Experience with work order analysis and report writing
Technical Expertise & Knowledge
  • Operation and maintenance of data center critical infrastructure such as generators, UPS, PDU, ATS, chilled water systems, CRAHs, CRACs, and water systems
  • Reading electrical diagrams, HVAC calculations, and understanding industry standards like NFPA, ASHRAE, and OCP
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or related engineering preferred
  • Professional Engineering License a plus
  • 3-5 years of data center industry experience
  • Leadership skills in staffing, training, and performance management
  • Strong organizational, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
