Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Data Center Engineer Operations role to join our on-site maintenance team. You will operate, test, and troubleshoot critical electrical and mechanical equipment in our data centers, including stand-by diesel generators, switchgear, UPS, PDUs, and cooling systems.

You will work with a diverse team to ensure uptime and safety across facilities. The role involves 12-hour shifts, rotating schedules, and potential on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of practical experience in electrical, mechanical, HVAC or fire suppression systems.
• Ability to bend/twist body into awkward positions and work at heights or ladders.
• Shifts longer than eight hours and on-call rotations may be required.

Responsibilities

• Daily rounds monitoring electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment for 24/7 reliability.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
• Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within SLAs.
• Perform rack installs and decommissioning within SLA.
• PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Create technical writing to support change management.
• Manage daily work requests from conception to completion; on-site support for contractors and vendors.
