Job summary

Amazon is seeking an Engineering Operations Technician for the ADC InfraOps DCEO to be on the front lines for electrical and mechanical data center equipment. The role includes 12‑hour rotating shifts, troubleshooting, and performing routine maintenance to ensure continuous operation of generators, UPS, PDUs, HVAC, and building automation systems.

This position requires US citizenship with an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph and involves lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders, and working

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant work experience required.
• Experience with electrical/mechanical equipment preferred.
• Able to bend/twist body into unusual positions while working.
• Able to manipulate small wires/objects and use hand tools.
• Willingness to work 12-hour rotating shifts and non-standard hours.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment in data centers.
• Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within SLAs.
• Perform limited maintenance tasks (filters, HVAC PMs, rack power installs).
• Provide support to Data Center Operations technicians.
• Conduct root cause analysis of equipment failures.
• Ensure safety procedures are followed during all tasks.
• Respond to on-call emergency rotations for regional sites.
• Manage CMMS for building workflows and spares inventory.
• Supervise contractors performing servicing or preventive maintenance.
• Drive cost reduction while maintaining reliability.
