Job summary

Eaton seeks a VP of Engineering to provide senior technical leadership for the Global Data Center Group, shaping product and solutions strategy and driving a worldwide technology roadmap for data center products.

You will oversee customer-driven requirements, end-to-end validation, and a high-performance engineering organization, with a focus on IP creation, regulatory compliance, and strategic partnerships, plus travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field; MBA preferred.
• 15+ years in professional engineering with 7+ years leadership.
• Experience in a highly matrix global organization.
• Electrical components/systems design, new product development, and program management.
• Proficiency in data center infrastructure, including cooling, power, monitoring.
• Knowledge of current engineering techniques and standards.
• Proven ability to lead geographically dispersed teams.
• Ability to influence across a global matrix.
• Collaborative, globally astute communication.
• Executive level communication and presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel 25% (international and domestic).

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Group President and Senior Leadership Team to establish and execute business and functional goals and objectives.
• Establish an integrated technology plan and roadmap across data center products lines.
• Lead a formal customer requirements intake and translation process (VOC, co-design) into product and system requirements.
• Establish end-to-end system validation for integrated data center solutions (hardware, software/monitoring, services).
• Drive alignment with product management and product line engineering on prioritization, scope, resourcing, and roadmap integration.
• Implement closed-loop governance to track customer-driven requirements from intake through release with clear ownership.
• Develop and operate an execution model using program management, lean reviews, global staffing, and collaboration tools.
• Ensure generation of meaningful IP portfolio while defending IP interests and improving IP quality.
• Oversee IP, environmental, export, and UL/CE compliance with structured processes and training.
• Drive a high-performance workforce—attract, coach, mentor and foster future talent.
