Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services is seeking a Data Center Operations Engineer to manage daily IT data center activities, focusing on server hardware, network devices, and connectivity. Responsibilities include hands-on maintenance, incident response, and collaboration with Network and Server teams.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in IT infrastructure, familiarity with DCIM, cabling standards, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Weekend/on-call work may be required.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in IT Infrastructure.
• Solid understanding of server hardware, network cabling, routers, switches, and storage devices.
• Experience with DCIM, ticketing systems, and monitoring platforms.
• Familiarity with Cat6 and fiber cabling standards.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in physically demanding environments.
• Willingness to work shifts, including weekends or on-call.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support for servers, network devices, storage systems, and related hardware.
• Install, rack, cable, and decommission data center equipment.
• Monitor power, cooling, and connectivity of the physical infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot hardware and connectivity issues with Network and Server teams.
• Handle incident response and escalation for onsite infrastructure.
• Maintain equipment inventory with asset tagging and documentation.
• Assist in patching network and fiber connections per layout standards.
• Follow SOPs for deployments, moves, adds, and changes.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for replacements or upgrades.
• Ensure data center security, cleanliness, and environmental compliance.
