Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Ashburn is seeking a Data Center Engineering Technician to maintain and troubleshoot mission-critical facilities, including diesel generators, switchgear, UPS, PDUs, CRAC units, chillers, cooling towers, and related systems.

You will monitor BMS/EPMS, perform PM, document procedures, and support vendors while traveling between sites as needed. The role may involve long shifts and on-call rotations in a dynamic data center environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience.
• 2+ years of electrical and mechanical facilities maintenance, or 2+ years of electrical facilities maintenance and 1+ years of mechanical facilities maintenance experience.
• Ability to work on a flexible schedule including days, nights, and/or weekends.

Responsibilities

• Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment to ensure 24/7 reliability.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
• Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within internal SLAs.
• Perform rack installs and decommissioning within internal SLA.
• PM, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Technical writing to support change management program.
