Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Data Center Infrastructure Engineer to support VA data centers nationwide, providing design, assessment, and operational excellence across compute, racks, power, cooling, and cabling. You will work with DCIM platforms, ITSM/CMDB tools, and analytics to ensure reliable mission-critical infrastructure.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in enterprise infrastructure and a bachelor’s degree in engineering, plus familiarity with ITIL and security standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of data center or comparable enterprise infrastructure engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Education substitutions per framework: Master’s ~2 years, PhD ~5 years, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, evaluate, and support data center infrastructure across compute, racks, power, cooling, cabling, capacity, and equipment deployments.
• Contribute to site assessments and produce Site Visit / Assessment Reports for VA facilities.
• Support design reviews from conceptual through issued-for-construction and respond to VA comments within timelines.
• Maintain configuration management materials such as cable schedules, rack elevations, floor plans, and labeling matrices.
