Job summary

Google is seeking a Strategic Negotiator to secure infrastructure through sophisticated energy supply arrangements, including first-of-kind behind-the-meter baseload deals and PPAs with energy suppliers. You will manage cross-functional teams and present recommendations to leadership to optimize Google's infrastructure growth across data centers and networks.

You will identify energy-ready sites, build relationships with IPPs and utilities, and contribute to the growth of Google's data center

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 6 years of experience in energy project development, utility procurement, or finance/consulting roles.
• 6 years of experience developing or structuring power purchase agreements for microgrids, behind-the-meter energy, gas turbines, BESS, fuel cell or geothermal energy.

Responsibilities

• Lead highly complex energy supply formation and commercial structuring, including first of kind behind-the-meter clean baseload energy deals involving PPAs with energy suppliers, microgrid contracts, and utility energy supply contracts including special tariff development and sleeving structures.
• Drive cross-functional workstreams such as regional market trend analysis, project economics and generation dispatch modeling, risk assessment across accounting/treasury, and engineering analysis to achieve approvals.
• Identify new energy-ready sites and strengthen relationships with energy partners including IPPs, utilities and co-ops.
• Contribute to Google’s data center portfolio growth through energy due diligence during site selection and project development.
