Job summary

QTS Realty Trust is seeking a Development Project Manager – Electrical SME in Virginia to lead technical design and coordination across facilities, contractors, and vendors. You will oversee electrical system design, detailing, and protection schemes while ensuring code compliance and safe, reliable data center operations.

The role requires strong communication skills, multi-project management, and a background in power systems, short circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field with 3+ years experience in electrical design engineering or construction.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in design engineering or the construction industry, related to electrical systems.
• 2+ years of experience applying NEC requirements and other electrical industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Review drawing packages for adherence to design standards.
• Collaborate with internal and external design teams to evaluate designs to meet standards, local code requirements, and AHJ requirements.
• Define project scope, deviations from standards, and communicate requirements with the design team.
• Coordinate with construction, commissioning, and risk management teams to respond to RFIs and value engineering queries.
• Review OFCI equipment submittals for compliance with standard design criteria.
• Support teams in resolving design issues during construction and commissioning.
