Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Electrical Engineer Owner's Representative Project Manager to lead all aspects of the Electrical Scope for data center construction projects in Austin/San Antonio, TX.

Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate. You will collaborate with core teams to develop electrical designs from basis of design to IFC, manage MV/HV distribution, oversee installation, commissioning, and documentation, and ensure schedule adherence and budget control

Qualifications

Preferred 10 years relevant electrical experience.
Knowledge of data center design concepts, NEC, NFPA 70E, and OSHA safety requirements.
Extensive experience with medium voltage power distribution (AIS & GIS switchgear, controls schematics, MV cable installation, relays).
Former experience as Field Service Representative (FSR) or as a NETA testing agent.
Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and controls schematics & diagrams.
Experience in bidding, designing, operating and commissioning of electrical distribution systems, from high voltage (HV) transformers to branch circuits.
Experience with power systems and electrical testing and standards.
Demonstrated skills in requirements gathering, resource organization, task prioritization, scheduling and achieving objectives on schedule and within budget.
Basic understanding of short circuit coordination & arc-flash (SCCAF) Reports (AF labeling, coordination of protective devices, etc.)
Great attitude with internal customers and external parties, and able to address any issues.
HV/MV/LV systems experience with equipment such as switchgear, cables, terminations, transformers, etc.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the core team to understand and develop the data center electrical designs, from BOD to IFC, for new builds and upgrades.
Navigate construction and commissioning issues from HV substation to MV equipment to LV branch circuits.
Work with QCx, GC, EC, PM, DCOPs, and Central Engineering Teams to remediate issues, deliver quality installation, and maintain schedule.
Manage all power system issues during concept design, detailed design, procurement, bidding, manufacturing, delivery, and installation on site.
Identify and resolve issues raised by cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
Generate scope of work for equipment portions of major infrastructure upgrades and document evolving configurations.
Interface with Global Commodities, manufacturers, and engineering teams to deliver suitable electrical solutions.
Update internal design specs and standards with latest configurations and lessons learned.
Work with EOR for medium voltage duct bank designs.
Develop training and documentation for new and existing construction quality tools and processes.
Roll-out of new MV standards and specifications with Central Region.
Inspect MV terminations and coordinate MV needs with site team.
Review pull calculations and oversee MV cable pulls.
Manage project budgets, scheduling, planning, and contractor resource assignment.
Track contractor performance against budget and contract; manage proposals, SOWs, bids, and design reviews.
