Job summary

Turner & Townsend in New York, NY is seeking a Development Manager to lead all phases of construction and development projects from inception to completion. You will manage budgets, schedules, and quality while ensuring regulatory compliance and client objectives.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in construction project management, senior leadership experience, and a track record delivering large-scale commercial or mixed-use developments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 8+ years of experience in construction project management with senior leadership experience.
• Proven track record delivering large-scale commercial or mixed-use developments.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, contracts, and regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency in project management software (MS Project, Procore).
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Project Planning & Execution: Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets for multiple development projects.
• Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal teams, architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants.
• Financial Oversight: Prepare and monitor project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports; negotiate contracts and manage change orders.
• Risk Management: Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies; ensure safety standards, building codes, and environmental regulations.
• Leadership & Team Development: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior project managers and coordinators.
