Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Design Manager to lead and coordinate the design process across all project phases, ensuring alignment with technical requirements, quality standards, and overall objectives. You will manage design deliverables and foster collaboration among stakeholders.

This on-site role requires BIM coordination, design reviews, risk analysis, and coordination with the EOR and contractors to support construction and close-out activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in design management within commercial real estate or large-scale construction projects.
• In-depth knowledge of design standards, building codes, and construction processes.
• Proficiency in BIM tools and design coordination software.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Leadership and team coordination.
• Problem-solving and conflict resolution.
• Risk management and quality assurance.
• Familiarity with permitting processes and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the design process in collaboration with the Engineer of Record and partners from inception through construction documentation.
• Review technical requirements and validate scope boundaries for design packages.
• Develop and maintain the Design Management Plan and oversee design reviews.
• Organize design meetings, page-turn sessions, and workshops with stakeholders.
• Identify and resolve design issues and implement VIP initiatives.
• Lead BIM clash detection sessions and coordinate with construction management.
• Review submittals for compliance and coordinate approvals with SMEs and PM.
• Support quality control, RFIs, changes, and as-built documentation.
• Ensure alignment of installed equipment with submittals and commissioning plans.
