Data Center Site Selection & Delivery Analyst
My client is a rapidly growing AI infrastructure company delivering enterprise-scale compute through a global network of data center capacity and power infrastructure.
Position Summary
My client is seeking a Data Center Site Selection & Delivery Analyst to directly support the VP of Infrastructure Delivery & Development across the full lifecycle of Tier III data center site acquisition and delivery.
The role will support everything from identifying potential data center locations through due diligence, site selection, contracting, construction tracking and ultimately ensuring Ready for Service (RFS) dates are achieved.
The Analyst will gather and manage information from data center owners and operators, brokers, developers, consultants, engineering and construction teams, procurement, finance, network providers and internal stakeholders, analysing this information to support site selection and delivery decisions.
A major part of the role will be maintaining accurate tracking and reporting across multiple data center opportunities and active projects, which may simultaneously be at different stages of evaluation, negotiation, construction and operation.
The ideal candidate does not need extensive data center experience but should have some prior exposure to data centers, mission-critical infrastructure, construction, real estate development, engineering projects or other complex infrastructure environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a centralised pipeline of prospective and active data center sites and associated due diligence information.
- Track opportunities from initial identification through RFS and operational handover.
- Coordinate meetings and communication with data center owners/operators, brokers, developers and other partners.
- Prepare materials for pipeline and site-selection review meetings.
- Track outstanding due diligence questions and ensure supporting information is received from providers.
- Develop comparison matrices and scorecards to evaluate competing sites.
- Identify missing information, inconsistencies, schedule concerns and other potential risks requiring further investigation.
Site Visits
- Support the planning and execution of prospective and active data center site visits.
- Prepare agendas, checklists and supporting information.
- Participate in site visits where required and document observations, risks, questions and follow-up actions.
- Prepare reports summarising findings and outstanding issues.
- Maintain action-item logs and ensure follow-ups are completed.
Data Center Delivery & RFS Management
- Maintain detailed project milestone schedules and delivery trackers.
- Compare actual project progress against contractual and delivery milestones.
- Identify schedule slippage, dependencies, critical-path issues and emerging risks.
- Maintain risk, issue, action and decision logs.
- Support regular project governance meetings with data center owners/operators.
- Prepare weekly or biweekly project status reports.
- Escalate material schedule, technical, commercial or operational concerns to management.
Data Center Provider Relationship Management
- Support ongoing governance and relationship management with data center owners and operators.
- Track provider obligations and performance against contractual commitments and service levels.
- Support periodic operational and business reviews.
- Maintain action and issue logs and ensure commitments are followed through to closure.
- Develop dashboards and reporting to provide management with clear visibility of provider performance and outstanding issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Real Estate, Finance, Project Management or a related field.
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience.
- Some experience or exposure to data centers, mission‑critical infrastructure, construction, engineering, commercial real estate, utilities, telecommunications or large infrastructure projects.
- Strong project coordination and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and workstreams simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and follow‑through.
- Ability to work effectively with technical, commercial, legal and executive stakeholders.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and project tracking/reporting tools.
- Willingness to travel to prospective and active data center sites, up to approximately 20%.
