Job summary

Metric DCX is seeking an Infrastructure Deployment Engineer to own end-to-end fiber and structured cabling deployments in data centers. The role involves coordinating schedules, QA/QC on contractor work, ensuring compliance with design standards, safety codes, and labeling policies, and supporting remote teams as on-site hands.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s in an engineering or IT field, 5+ years in data center deployment, and hands-on fiber, racking, and cabling experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, IT, or related field.
• 5+ years in data center or mission-critical deployment.
• Hands-on fiber systems experience (OTDR, VFL, power meter).
• Experience with racking, stacking, and cabling infrastructure.
• Ability to read and interpret AutoCAD/Visio drawings.

Responsibilities

• Project Oversight & Contractor Management: act as on-site technical contact, manage deployment schedules, coordinate site access, support remote teams, conduct QA inspections, ensure BoM and grounding standards, oversee fiber testing, validate copper cabling, manage vendor SLAs.
• SME & Documentation: serve as SME for fiber and structured cabling, review designs and rack layouts, produce test reports and as-builts, support training and handover.
