Job summary

STACK Infrastructure is seeking a Critical Operations Manager to lead the Critical Operations team at a New Albany data center. You will oversee mechanical, electrical, fire life safety, base building systems, and uptime, while implementing safety, availability, and knowledge programs.

You will train staff, manage budgets, and act as a liaison for customers. Responsibilities include mentoring staff, managing vendors and contracts, leading incident analysis, and ensuring compliance with NFPA

Qualifications

• 5–7 years in data center or mission-critical operations.
• 3–5 years in administering and managing facility preventative maintenance programs.
• 3–5 years in vendor and project management.
• Expert knowledge of data center systems and NFPA codes.
• Strong communication and multitasking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and implement a standardized culture of always working safely across STACK data centers.
• Serve as datacenter SME for electrical, mechanical, fire life safety, and other data center systems.
• Advise the Senior Director, Critical Operations on maintenance programs and uptime.
• Operate, monitor, maintain, and respond to abnormal conditions within the facility.
• Implement site-level efficiency projects and maintain site design PUE.
• Ensure preventative and predictive maintenance program is executed.
• Train and mentor junior staff.
• Manage vendor relationships and service contracts, including procurement and billing processes.
• Develop and manage site budgeting and forecasting for CapEx and OpEx.
• Create detailed technical procedures for maintenance events and emergencies.
• Ensure construction and commissioning activities do not impact existing operations.
• Develop and maintain individual training plans for each employee.
• Act as customer liaison for site-level inquiries.
• Lead incident reporting and root cause analysis processes.
• Perform expert technical review of procedures and standards.
• Manage site audits and compliance controls.
• Manage systems to avoid unplanned outages.
• Manage data floor and back-of-house cooling loading capacity.
• Navigate CMS, EPMS, and BMS systems.
• Provide day-to-day exceptional customer service and on-call support.
