Job summary

CyrusOne is building a pipeline of Critical Environments Operators across all experience levels—from associates just starting their data center careers to senior lead technicians ready to mentor others and drive operational excellence.

As a Critical Environments Operator, you will join a 24/7/365 Operations & Maintenance team responsible for keeping mission-critical data center infrastructure running at peak reliability.

Qualifications

• Strong safety mindset and willingness to learn.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills.
• Solid problem-solving and decision-making ability.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate data center mechanical, electrical, and HVAC/R systems to ensure uptime.
• Respond to building system alarms with priority on critical loads and root cause analysis.
• Execute Preventive Maintenance work orders and follow SOPs/MOPs/EOPs/MMRs.
• Use CMMS to track work orders, labor hours, and PMs.
• Coordinate with contractors and vendors; enforce safety protocols.
• Perform equipment and system modifications, including critical switching and safe area setup.
• Maintain awareness of policies and EHS requirements.
• Mentor junior operators and lead critical switching events at senior levels.
