Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Cost Manager/Quantity Surveyor to join our data center construction program in Ohio. The role is primarily site-based with on-site presence at the project site in Miami County, about 80 minutes from Cincinnati, and supports multi-year campus development.

You will lead cost estimates, manage reporting, control costs and collaborate with vendors and project teams. A Bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years in cost management are required; RICS accreditation is valuable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering or field related to construction.
• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience working in a cost management role in the construction industry.
• RICS accredited or working towards it is valuable.
• Experience supporting cost management on medium or large sized construction projects.
• Experience supporting large-scale campus developments, mission critical, commercial, industrial, or other major capital construction projects is beneficial.
• Construction consultancy experience is strongly preferred.
• Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as different procurement routes, value management, and value engineering.

Responsibilities

• Advising client on strategies, managing prequalification of vendors, assessing proposals, bids, and bid levelling documents, making final recommendations to the client, attending bid interviews, and managing appointment process.
• Develop and review project estimates related to construction, fees, direct work and other costs, and present to client with VE and risk assessments.
• Establish cost reporting schedules, review reports and forecasts, and maintain a commercial risk register.
• Oversee cost control: review payment applications, recommend entitlements, review change orders, and resolve disputes.
• Manage invoicing processes and conduct final accounting and post-contract audits.
