Job summary

Turner & Townsend, a global professional services firm, seeks a Senior Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor to lead cost management for a major data center portfolio in Northern Virginia. The role is client-facing and based in Tysons, VA, with responsibilities across estimating changes, cost planning, and reporting on multiple large-scale projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction-related field and 6–7 years cost/quantity surveying experience in large-scale projects.
• Experience with data center or mission-critical facilities preferred.
• Strong knowledge of cost control, change management, and contract administration.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills; able to lead meetings and influence stakeholders.
• Proficiency with cost management systems and MS Office suite; certifications welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Estimate and negotiate change orders across the project lifecycle.
• Provide cost planning, including final cost plans and reporting.
• Review estimates with design teams and general contractors for accuracy.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to prepare updated cost estimates and reports.
• Lead VE sessions and support design optioneering to reduce costs.
• Monitor post-contract cost variances and change-control processes.
• Produce monthly cost reports and contribute to final accounts.
• Mentor junior staff and promote high-performance teamwork.
• Ensure SOX controls and internal processes are followed where applicable.
