Job summary

Turner & Townsend in the United States is seeking an experienced Senior Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor to support a large-scale data center construction project. The role is client-facing, delivering cost management, commercial guidance, and quantity surveying services across the project lifecycle to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a construction-related field is required.
• 5–7+ years in cost management, quantity surveying, or project controls within construction.
• Experience leading cost management on medium to large-scale projects, preferably data centers.

Responsibilities

• Estimating and negotiating change orders throughout the construction lifecycle.
• Provide estimating, cost planning, and commercial management services, including final cost plans.
• Review and participate with design teams and contractors in developing project cost estimates.
• Reconcile changes and assist contractors in validating quantity and pricing information.
• Meet with stakeholders to gather updates and prepare cost estimate updates and forecasts.
• Prepare executive summaries on contractor submissions.
• Coordinate all sources of cost information from pricing to design quantities.
• Provide input on design decisions, value engineering, and cost impacts.
• Manage cost checks, valuations, forecasting, and commitment tracking on large projects.
• Support contingency management, risk tracking, and post-contract cost management.
• Prepare funding presentations and participate in value engineering workshops.
• Develop cost plans and estimates throughout design and construction milestones.
• Review contractor pricing and lead commercial negotiations for the client.
• Perform quantity surveying, cost controls, change management, and validation.
• Produce monthly cost reports and client presentations.
• Ensure final accounts are negotiated and agreed upon in a timely manner.
• Maintain benchmarking data and historical cost records.
• Mentor junior team members and support their professional development.
